CDC?

1000 Points to Brenda of Kinship in Color and Wool!

D B B S C P does indeed translate to The Baby Is Sleepy. (from the previous post)

If you say the letters out loud to yourself maybe you'll hear it!

Go check out Brenda's Blog if you haven't already!

My friend Mawci once had a book called CDC? (See The Sea) It was full of these kinds of puzzles. I thought it was great. In it was a conversation that went something like this:

M R Ducks!

M R Not Ducks!

O S M R 2 Ducks!!

Gee Brenda, what are you going to do with your 1000 points? The possibilities are endless....

Puzzle 4 U

1000 points to whomever can figure this one out!

D B B S C P!

Stoned

I had an insight yesterday into why it was that pot smokers might think that weed is the answer to world peace.

No, I didn't smoke marijuana yesterday, but my cats had a wild catnip binge. I planted a hosta where a catnip plant used to be and I brought in some of the leaves for the kitties to enjoy. Which they did enthusiastically and then fell into a catnip coma... TOGETHER, sleeping back to back, they were actually so close their BODIES were TOUCHING and they were SHARING the SAME SUN SPOT on the dining room floor! The one they fight viciously for every day the sun is out!

I wanted to get a picture but the peaceful moment was ruined when Hobbes noticed Mocha was TOUCHING him and a fight ensued, but for a brief period, they shared the same space.

I was holding a sleeping baby so I didn't get a picture of it but it was really quite something.

Not Too Big for My Britches

Updates:

Finally, after almost 3 months post pregnancy, I got into my favorite pair of jeans!! Pre pregnancy, they were very roomy. They are not so much roomy now, but I can get them ON and that is so very cool.

The Sir Leapsalot Frog Mobile in Sam's Crib has lost yet another note. It went today after sounding clinky for a while. There is now no discernable tune, just nice tinkly notes strung together that sometimes harmonize but generally don't make any sense!

Sam is so cute I can't stand it.

Tonight I failed at creating yet another batch of no bake cookies. I'm a pretty confident cook, I tell you. But No bakes? This is the second time in a row I've screwed them up!

It's Harshin' my Mellow!

Millionaire Next Door

CHA CHING!!!

Too bad it's not real money! I just checked in on Blogshares and have over 3.5 million in cash on there. My Total Worth is over 6 Million!

This is quite a surprise to me considering I'm only on there every 3 or 4 months. I once had some shares of Real Live Preacher - back before he became all famous and everything. His "stock" split early and then was bought out by someone pretty early on so I no longer own any of those shares. But I feel cool to say that I did. At least in Fantasy Blogshare World.

If my retirement investments did half that well I'd feel even more cool about it, and it would be For Real Cool, not Fake Fantasy Cool.

Don't Linger In The Moonlight While I'm Gone

Remember in Junior High when you wrote a paper you wrote really really big to make the paper look longer? - Maybe you didn't do that, but I did! And I'm doing that here too, to make my post look longer. And also so that some of you older geezers out there can read my blog!

It's been crazy bizzy around here, and my creative juices are not flowing that much so I asked the cat to write a post for me. However, that requires a lot of help from me and he is so perfectionistic that we keep writing draft after draft - and he's still too scared to post it. So we're working on it. Hobbes has a lot to say about the new addition to our family. He's afraid to sound too negative but I told him no one expects anything different; he's a cat. In addition to that, very few people have ever seen his softer side anyway.
So ya - that's in the hopper, and hopefully will publish soon.

I recently found out someone else I know in "real life" reads my blog and I didn't know it. ::waves:: Hi!! You know who you are out there with the initials C.L.! Thanks for reading!

This weekend was my first mothers day being a mom! So fun! We took Sam to The Great Wall for his first chinese food experience - he slept the whole time there. He woke up in Starbucks, he had to wake up and smell the coffee!

Incidentally, after a double espresso drink I realized I had forgotten to take my Aciphex. Which, carelessly prounounced, sounds like Ass Affects! As far as I know, it doesn't affect me in that way, but it works wonders on acid reflux.*

Last night was my last class at Marywood. Which was mostly on Thomas Merton! 3 hours of Merton! WEEE!! Also we took some time for everyone to share what they got out of the class and I'll share my thought on that with you: It was a continuation of a growing awareness and accepting of the diverse ways that spirituality is (and has been) expressed and practiced within Christianity. Amazing stuff, really. No one wanted to leave, we all liked each other so much and it was fun to experience that.

Well, speaking of acid reflux, (which we were, paragraph before last) I've got to go get ready for my Coronation. I'm getting my very first crown on one of my very bad teeth - after which I will be Crowned Royalty and expect to be treated as such!

*this sentence should make for some very interesting google hits

Happy Anniversary!

Well, it's been TWO YEARS now! Two years ago tomorrow I married Amazing Man on a very beautiful day in front of all of our very wonderful family and friends!

This is the bouquet he brought me for Anniversary #2 - isn't it byooootiful!? Aunt Pat is going to babysit for us tonight while we go out for dinner and a movie! We haven't been out together without Sam since the Grandmas were here! We're so geeked we can hardly stand ourselves! We're going to go see The Sentinel and eat dinner we don't know where yet.

It's been two Amazing Years with the Amazing Man. We've lived life together and learned together and laughed and loved and woah! Even had a BABY! Given how ambivalent we both were about kids when we got married this is in itself is pretty big news. It's a big indicator of how much growing up and healing we've both done in our lives - much of that process took place even before we met.

Amazing Man, you TOTALLY RAWK! I could not have asked for a better husband and I know that even more now than I did when we got married! Happy Anniversary!

purdy flowers

This one's for you, Little David!

The tulips in our front yard are so dark they almost look black! And the hydrangea on the left survived the transplant as did the yellow leafy thingy that should hopefully turn into some terrific ground cover some day when it grows up!

The tulips in the back yard are almost all spent... but they were purdy.

Mr. Fancy Pants

Well, last post I was bemoaning the near extinction of the Newborn Pants in the world when lo and behold we found some! If you remember last post I talked about 4 boxes of boys clothing of all sizes we received from a friend...... Well, It contained SIX PAIRS of pants that fit Mr. Sam!! YAY!! This kid has more clothes than I do! It's incredible. - And come of them are cooler too.

So I get the point in your comments about the onesies being easier but I like his legsies being warm so I put up with the pulling off of the pants (and sox if he's poopy) for diaper changing. This is Michigan and it's still damp and chilly most days. But y'all are right, onesies are easier - summer is near!

In addition to keeping his legsies warm, this way I can keep the boy humble. We run the danger of him someday thinking he's Prince of the Entire Universe the way we tell him how wonderful he is every day so I also tell him when I'm putting his pants on how even though he's so great and all, we still have to put his pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else!
